It seems to be designed differenty so that it never gets hung up in the material. I've had this now for about a month and there really isn't one thing I could find wrong with this saw. I've tried the Porter-Cable, Milwaukee, and Bosch, but this is my favorite. The case has storage for a couple of blades. It runs smooth, has a good line of sight, feels well balanced and doesn't bog down on any of the cuts. I also really liked the lower blade guard.
But, if you are more concerned with the FEELING of 'durability' and 'quality,' go for another. This is a great saw. You won't be disappointed. If DURABILITY and QUALITY are huge issues to you, consider this saw.
when started it also feels a bit rough when compared to its competitors from hitachi and milwaukee, in particular.if weight is a huge issue, consider this saw, but if durability and the feel of quality are bigger issues, go for another. it does feel somewhat cheap, in the plastic-from-walmart sense. i used this saw for a few days--a co-worker has one. it is very light (noticeably lighter than my milwaukee saw), and well balanced.
